Overview

This 2-day seminar/retreat will focus on finding ways of maintaining the integrity and enjoyment of our work in spite of the challenges we are now facing. It will also address the crucial issue of therapist self-care and its central role in the quality of services we provide. Maximum 8 participants.

Learning Objectives and Content:

Participants will be encouraged to take stock and reflect on issues such as:

  •  What brought them to the helping profession
  •  The state of their personal/professional growth
  •  Their unique physical, cognitive, emotional and spiritual needs.

Participants will also have the opportunity to design a self-care practise and take practical steps towards the most essential and pressing changes they might have identified.

This will be done through discussions, the use of imagery whether as expressed in metaphors, visualizations or a variety of expressive therapies (art, sand play, writing, sewing, storytelling etc.)

This seminar is meant to be the first in an ongoing series of weekend learning /healing retreats for those who chose to continue this process.

Fee includes use of materials. Meals and accommodations are not provided.
